Pennsylvania Compensation Rating Bureau; Small Class Study and Resulting Manual Revision

[26 Pa.B. 3495]

On July 5, 1996, the Insurance Department received from the Pennsylvania Compensation Rating Bureau a filing for a change in the Workers' Compensation Manual resulting from the small class study. The filing proposes that change to be effective 12:01 a.m., September 1, 1996, with respect to new and renewal business only.

The revision involves the deletion of nine small classes, (Codes 103, 131, 508, 510, 672, 713, 0170, 7409 and 7419), and the reassignment of the operations previously assigned to those classes to larger classes with generally analogous operation and experience.

Except for the aircraft operations classes, the Bureau does not propose any revision in loss cost values for the classifications into which the various smaller classifications are proposed to be assimilated. The Bureau concurrently proposes a new loss cost calculation methodology for the aircraft operations classes, along with the revised loss cost values for those classes incorporated in the small class study.

Copies of the filing are available for public inspection during normal working hours, by appointment, at the Insurance Department's offices in Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Erie.

Interested parties are invited to submit written comments, suggestions or objections, to Guo Harrison, Actuary, Insurance Department, Office of Rate and Policy Regulation, Bureau of Property and Casualty Insurance, 1311 Strawberry Square, Harrisburg, PA 17120, within 30 days of publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
