HOUSING FINANCE AGENCY

Public Forums Concerning Housing for People with Disabilities

   The Governor's Disabilities Policy Team's Housing Work Group will conduct public forums to which all interested persons are invited. The Housing Work Group was established by the Governor's Disability Policy Team to identify the housing needs of persons with disabilities and includes representatives from the Governor's Policy Office, the Housing Finance Agency, the Pennsylvania Developmental Disabilities Council, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, and the Departments of Community and Economic Development, Aging, Health, Insurance and Public Welfare.

   The public forums are free of charge and will be held at the following locations:

Purpose:

   Forum participants are invited to speak for up to 10 minutes about affordable housing policies, programs and solutions that are relevant to persons with disabilities. Those who have participated in successful local efforts are asked to present examples of activities that could have Statewide applications. Suggestions about identifying and solving housing problems (that is, revisions to tax laws, ways to make capital more accessible, and the like) are welcome and encouraged.

   To register and/or schedule a 10 minute presentation, call (717) 780-3874 by March 20, 1998. TDD for persons with a hearing loss (717) 780-1869--specify the forum location being attended. All locations are fully accessible, but anyone requiring special accommodations may wish to note those needs when calling.

   Persons who are unable to attend, but wish to submit written comments or materials, written comments will be accepted prior to April 7, 1998 and may be submitted to Lisa J.
