Keystone Health Plan Central, Inc.; 1999 Base Rate Filing

   Keystone Health Plan Central, Inc. has requested to increase the 1999 year base plan rates. The proposed blended rate increase over the three service areas is 7.22%. The rate increase for each service area is as follows:

   Harrisburg--4.52% and affects approximately 48,000 contracts

   Lehigh Valley--11.83% and affects approximately 18,000 contracts

   Northern Tier--11.96% and affects approximately 6,000 contracts.

   This rate increase will produce an estimated additional annual income of $1.5 million. An effective date of January 1, 1999 is requested.

   Copies of the filing are available for public inspection during normal working hours, by appointment, at the Insurance Department's Harrisburg Regional Office.

   All interested parties are invited to submit written comments, suggestions or objections to Rashmi Mathur, Actuary, Bureau of Accident and Health Insurance, Insurance Department, 1311 Strawberry Square, Harrisburg, PA 17120, within 30 days after the publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
