Availability of Technical Guidance

   Guidance Documents are on DEP's World Wide Web site (http://www.dep.state.pa.us) at the Public Participation Center. The ''January 1999 Inventory'' heading is the Governor's List of Non-regulatory Documents. The ''Search the Inventory of Technical Guidance Documents'' heading is a database of the Inventory. The ''Final Documents'' heading is the link to a menu of the various DEP bureaus and from there to each bureau's final technical guidance documents. The ''Draft Technical Guidance'' heading is the link to DEP's draft technical guidance documents.

   DEP will continue to revise guidance documents, as necessary, throughout 1999.

Ordering Paper Copies of DEP Guidance

   Persons can order a bound paper copy of the latest Inventory or an unbound paper copy of any of the final documents listed on the Inventory by calling DEP at (717) 783-8727.

   In addition, bound copies of some of DEP's documents are available as DEP publications. Please check with the appropriate bureau for more information about the availability of a particular document as a publication.

Final Guidance

   DEP ID 383-2000-030 Title: Pennsylvania's Comprehensive State Groundwater Protection Program (CSGWPP) and Self-Assessment Description: This guidance (CSGWPP) is a State-EPA initiative which provides a mechanism whereby states and the EPA can work together to develop a comprehensive and consistent Statewide approach to groundwater quality protection. The CSGWPP consists of a set of six Strategic Activities, and each strategic activity has two sets of adequacy criteria (Core and Fully-Integrating CSGWPP). This document describes and assesses the Pennsylvania groundwater quality protection program relative to the adequacy criteria for the six strategic CSGWPP activities. Draft Guidance

   DEP ID 393-0900-017 Title: Requirements for Registration of ASTs and USTs with Nonstandard Installation or Use

   Description: This guidance establishes procedures for registration and for possible tank handling activity or permitting violations associated with storage tanks that were not installed by certified individuals, for used tanks or tanks that previously held unregulated substances and for relocated tanks.
