Medical Assistance Program Fee Schedule Revision

   The purpose of this notice is to announce that the Department of Public Welfare (Department) is revising fees for two laboratory procedure codes on the Medical Assistance (MA) Program Fee Schedule, effective January 2, 2007.

Fee Revision

   The Department is increasing the fee for procedure codes 87491 and 87591 as it has determined that an incorrect fee was published at 36 Pa.B. 8019 (December 30, 2006), and included in the MA Program Fee Schedule.

   The new fees for these procedure codes are as follows:

   An MA Bulletin will be issued relating to this MA Program fee schedule revision.

Fiscal Impact

   The estimated cost of this increase is estimated at $0.114 million ($0.054 million in State funds) in Fiscal Year 2006-2007. The annualized cost is estimated at $0.341 million ($0.162 in State funds) in Fiscal Year 2007-2008.

Public Comment

   Interested persons are invited to submit written comments regarding this notice to the Department of Public Welfare, Office of Medical Assistance Programs, c/o Deputy Secretary's Office, Attention: Regulations Coordinator, Room 515, Health and Welfare Building, Harrisburg, PA 17120. Comments received will be reviewed and considered for any subsequent revisions to the MA Program Fee Schedule.
