Extension of Pennsylvania General NPDES General Permit for Stormwater Discharges Associated with Construction (PAG-2)

   Under the authority of The Clean Streams Law (35 P. S. §§ 691.1--691.1001) and sections 1905-A, 1917-A and 1920-A of The Administrative Code of 1929 (71 P. S. §§ 510-5, 510-17 and 510-20), the Department of Environmental Protection (Department) is extending for 12 months the availability of the current National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit for Stormwater Discharges Associated with Construction Activities (PAG-2, 2002 amendment). The current PAG-2 permit is scheduled to expire at midnight December 7, 2007. The extension will be effective on December 8, 2007, and expires at midnight December 7, 2008, unless rescinded by the Department at an earlier date. The Department is extending the availability of this permit to adequately complete the preparation of the renewal of PAG-2.

   The existing PAG-2 permit documents will continue to be available from the Department's regional offices and local county conservation districts until they are replaced or updated. In addition, the permit documents are on file at the Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Watershed Management, 10th Floor, Rachel Carson State Office Building, 400 Market Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101.
