Receipt of Applications for Funding under the Section 5310 Program; Fiscal Year 2009-2010

   The Department of Transportation, Bureau of Public Transportation, under the authority contained in Section 5310 of the Federal Transit Laws (49 U.S.C.A. § 5310), gives notice that it will receive applications for the State-administered Section 5310 Program. Under this program, private nonprofit organizations and designated public bodies may apply for Federal capital assistance to pay up to 80% of the purchase cost of new wheelchair accessible small transit vehicles and other equipment used to provide needed transportation services for senior citizens and persons with disabilities who cannot be reasonably accommodated by existing transportation providers.
