Availability of 2009 Regional Summer Schools of Excellence Grants

   Applications for the 2009 Regional Summer Schools of Excellence Grants of $6,000 to apply to the operation of enrichment projects serving academically and/or artistically talented/gifted youth during July and August of 2009.

1.  Eligibility Requirements:

   Funding is available on a competitive basis to intermediate units; school districts (serving students in more than one district, except in large cities); charter schools; career and technology centers (CTCs or AVTSs) colleges or universities; not for profit regional chapters or councils for the arts; culture and/or educational organizations or consortia of two or more of the above. Applicants may apply for grants to launch new programs or expand or update existing programs.

2.  Application Deadline:

Applications are due close of business, February 27, 2009.

3.  How to Apply:

   The grant guidelines and application will be available on the Department of Education's web site at www.pde. state.pa.us. On the left side click on: Pre K-12 Schools, Student Services and Programs, Schools of Excellence, Regional Schools of Excellence. This page also provides the policies and frequently asked questions regarding the grant.
