Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant Public Meeting

 The Department of Health (Department) is making available copies of the proposed Maternal and Child Health Services Title V Block Grant Application (Block Grant Application) for Federal Fiscal Year 2015, under Title V of the Social Security Act and Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1981. This Block Grant Application shall serve as the Commonwealth's request to the United States Department of Health and Human Services for block grant funding to address the Maternal and Child Health program objectives.

 The Block Grant Application, describing proposed services, program goals and objectives and activities, is available for public comment. Copies, electronic or hard copy, of the proposed Block Grant Application will be available on or before May 14, 2014, and can be obtained by calling the Bureau of Family Health at (717) 346-3000. Persons with a disability who require an alternative format of the Block Grant Application (for example, large print or Braille) should also contact the same office at (717) 346-3000, TDD (717) 783-6514.

 A public hearing will be conducted by the Department for the purpose of receiving testimony on the previously-mentioned Block Grant Application in accordance with Title V of the Social Security Act. Comments and suggestions from the public should relate to the priorities and program plans included in the Block Grant Application.

 The hearing will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on May 14, 2014, at the Department of Transportation Training Facility, 81 Lab Lane, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Persons wishing to testify are requested to preregister by contacting the Bureau of Family Health at (717) 346-3000. Registration will be accepted on the day of the hearing. Persons will be allotted a maximum of 5 minutes to testify. Those wishing to testify should submit two written copies of their testimony to the Department at the time of the hearing.

 Written comments will be accepted and should be sent to the Bureau of Family Health, East Wing, 625 Forster Street, Health and Welfare Building, Harrisburg, PA 17120 and should be received no later than 4 p.m. on May 13, 2014.
