Coal Mining Reclamation Fee Amount for 2020

 The Department of Environmental Protection (Department) announces the amount of the per acre Reclamation Fee for 2020. Effective January 1, 2020, the per acre Reclamation Fee will be $100. The fee amount is recalculated each year in accordance with 25 Pa. Code § 86.17(e)(4) (relating to permit and reclamation fees). Refer to 25 Pa. Code § 86.17 for more detailed information.

 Annual adjustments to the per acre Reclamation Fee are based on a fiscal year report that contains a financial analysis of the revenue and expenditures from the Reclamation Fee O & M Trust Account for Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-2019. The report also provides projections for FY 2019-2020. The report was reviewed with the Department's Mining and Reclamation Advisory Board on October 24, 2019.
