The project is located along the southern right-of-way of S. R. 0829 approximately 100.0 feet west of the intersection of S. R. 1008 and S. To amend Permit No. E54-215 to place fill in an additional 0.13 acre of wetlands on building lot No. 40 and to utilize the Pennsylvania Wetlands Replacement Project in lieu of creating 0.24 acre of replacement wetlands. Permit No. E54-215 authorized the placement of fill in 0.11 acre of wetlands on three building lots in the Ridgeview Estates Subdivision for the purpose of constructing single family homes. This project is located at the intersection of Woodview Road and East Ridgeview Drive approximately 2,300 feet east of Liberty Street (S. R. 2013) (Orwigsburg, PA Quadrangle N: 3.8 inches; W: 13.3 inches) in Orwigsburg Borough, Schuylkill County.

The requirement for replacement of impacted wetlands is being made by participation in the Pennsylvania Wetland Replacement Project.

Request for Variance The Bureau of Deep Mine Safety has received a request for variance from the CONSOL Pennsylvania Coal Company. The following notification contains a summary of this request. Complete copies of the variance request may be obtained from Glen Ziegler by calling (717) 787-1376.
The Department is publishing a summary of the request in order to solicit comments from affected parties on the proposed variance request. Comments may be used by the Bureau to assist in its investigation of the variance request. Comments will be accepted for 30 days following the publication of this notice. All comments should be addressed to James J. Brahosky, Acting Director, Bureau of Deep Mine Safety, P. O. Box 8463, Harrisburg, PA 17105-8463.
Section 702 of The Bituminous Coal Mine Act (52 P. S. §§ 701--702) provides a mechanism for operators to obtain variances from specific requirements of the act to accommodate the adoption of new machinery, equipment, tools, supplies, methods or processes.
Section 242(c) of The Bituminous Coal Mine Act requires that where belt conveyors are installed, main stoppings and regulators shall be so arranged as to reduce the quantity of air traveling in the belt conveyor entry to a minimum for effective ventilation and to provide an intake air split as an escapeway from the face area to the main air current.
Summary of the request: CONSOL Pennsylvania Coal Company requests permission to use a three entry gate road system for development of all future longwall panels at the Bailey Mine. The three entry system's ventilation plan calls for a belt entry with an intake air split traveling outby (away from the face).
