Proposed Land Exchange between DCNR, Bureau of Forestry and the Game Commission
[27 Pa.B. 2052] The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, acting through the Bureau of Forestry, and the Game Commission are proposing to negotiate an exchange of lands in Bradford, Tioga and Luzerne Counties, PA.
The Bureau of Forestry is proposing to acquire from the Game Commission a tract of 928.0 acres known as State Game Lands No. 240. This tract is situated on Robwood Mountain in Monroe, Albany and Asylum Townships, Bradford County, and adjoins various parcels of the Tioga State Forest.
In return, the Bureau of Forestry proposes to convey to the Game Commission two tracts of land. The first is a tract of 629.43 acres in the Stony Fork Creek area of Delmar and Morris Townships, Tioga County, adjoining State Game Lands No. 268. The second is a tract of 700.43 acres near Indian Lake in Buck Township, Luzerne County, adjoining State Game Lands No. 91.
As is the policy of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the public is hereby notified of this exchange. A 30-day period for public inquiry and/or comment will be in effect beginning April 28, 1997, and ending May 27, 1997. If, in the duration of the 30-day comment period, a significant amount of public concern develops, the Secretary of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources may schedule a public informational meeting.
