FISH AND BOAT COMMISSION
Application for Tagged Fish Contest on Boundary Lakes
[28 Pa.B. 1360] The Fish and Boat Commission (Commission) has received an application under 30 Pa.C.S. § 2907.1 and 58 Pa. Code Chapter 69, Subchapter E (relating to tagged fish contests in boundary lakes) to conduct a tagged fish contest in Lake Pymatuning. Fishing in America has applied to conduct a 60-day tagged fish contest for crappie on Lake Pymatuning during the period from May 2 through June 30, 1998. The applicant estimates that 3,500 persons will participate in this contest. The State of Ohio has issued a permit for this contest on its portion of Lake Pymatuning.
In addition to conducting the tagged fish contest described above, Fishing in America has also applied for a permit to conduct a 1-day fishing tournament on Lake Pymatuning on April 26, 1998 for the purpose of gathering crappie to be captured, tagged and released for use in the tagged fish contest.
Under the provisions of 58 Pa. Code § 69.44(b), the Commission is hereby giving the public the opportunity to offer comments, objections, protests or interventions with respect to the proposed tagged-fish contest. The Commission has established a 15-day public comment period for this application. Persons with comments, suggestions, protests or objections to the proposed tagged fish contest or who wish to intervene in the permit application process are invited to submit them to the Executive Director, Fish and Boat Commission, P.O. Box 67000, Harrisburg, PA 17106-7000, within 15 days of the date of the publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
