Finding
[28 Pa.B. 2327]
Wyoming County Pursuant to the provisions of 71 P. S. Section 2002(b), the Secretary of Transportation makes the following written finding:
The Department of Transportation plans to construct the Tunkhannock Transportation Improvement Project in Wyoming County.
The project consists of the construction of a new 4.83 kilometer (3 mile) two-lane, limited-access highway that bypasses, to the south, the existing S. R. 006 and a majority of the Borough of Tunkhannock in Wyoming County. The highway extends from approximately 0.8 kilometers (.5 mile) east of the Tunkhannock Borough line to approximately 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) northwest of the Borough line. The project also includes at-grade intersections with S. R. 0029 and S. R. 0092 and replaces the deteriorated existing S. R. 0092 bridge over Tunkhannock Creek.
This alignment requires the demolition of three contributing buildings and partial take of one contributing property from the Tunkhannock Historic District.
Coordination has been maintained with the Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Offices and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation in accordance with Section 106 of the Historic Preservation Act. A memorandum of Agreement has been signed by the Federal Highway Administration, Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Officer, Advisory Council on Historic Preservation and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation documenting the mitigation measures to be implemented for the Tunkhannock Historic District.
No adverse environmental effect is likely to result from the reconstruction of this section of highway.
BRADLEY L. MALLORY,
Secretary
