STATE EMPLOYES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM

General Investment Consulting and Performance Evaluation Services; Request for Proposal 1998-1

   The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania State Employes' Retirement Board is soliciting proposals for General Investment Consulting and Performance Evaluation Services for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania State Employes' Retirement System (SERS).

   Eight signed copies of the proposal must be submitted in accordance with the specific instructions set forth in Request For Proposal 1998-1 (RFP 1998-1). Proposals should be sent to Peter M. Gilbert, Chief Investment Officer, State Employes' Retirement System, 30 North Third Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101, Attention: RFP 1998-1. Proposals must be received at this address no later than 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 1998. Proposals received after that time will be rejected.

   A preproposal conference will be held on Monday, August 3, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the SERS office located at 30 North Third Street, 5th Floor, Harrisburg, PA. Prospective bidders are invited to attend the preproposal conference before submitting a proposal to SERS for consideration. The preproposal conference is to clarify any points in RFP 1998-1 which may require explanation. Questions regarding the contents of RFP 1998-1 should be submitted in writing and received at SERS 2 days prior to the preproposal conference. All bidders will receive written responses to the submitted questions 1 week after the preproposal conference. Please note the preproposal conference is not mandatory.
