DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
Finding
McKean County
[28 Pa.B. 4214] Pursuant to the provisions of 71 P. S. Section 2002(b), the Secretary of Transportation makes the following written finding:
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation plans to construct a new 0.8 kilometer (0.5 mile) roadway to connect the south end of the existing four (4) lane section of SR 219 to the existing two (2) lane section of SR 219 in Bradford Township, McKean County.
The purpose of this project is to provide a continuous transportation facility from Bradford Township around the City of Bradford, thus separating through and local traffic, to reduce the number of accidents, and to allow for a more efficient flow of goods and services into and through the Bradford area. Currently traffic traveling south on SR 219 must exit the four lane section of SR 219 at SR 4002 (Owens Way), travel 457 meters (1,500 feet) west on SR 4002, and then turn left onto the existing two-lane section of SR 219 to continue traveling south. The proposed project addresses all of these issues.
No adverse environmental effect is likely to result from the construction of this section of highway.
BRADLEY L. MALLORY,
Secretary
