An approval for this major permit modification, specifically for the construction of a landfill gas-fired electric generating facility within this municipal waste landfill's permit boundary limits, located in Plainfield Township, Northampton County. The facility will incorporate three solar landfill gas-fired combustion turbines and will generate up to 10 MW of electricity, which will be sold to the local electric utility of nearby industrial users. The facility's sanitary sewage and condensate will be pumped by a 2 inch diameter force main to the existing onsite wastewater treatment plant. The major permit modification was approved in the Regional Office on December 20, 1999.
