City of Philadelphia Year 2000 Taxicab Medallion Auction
[30 Pa.B. 380] The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (Commission) announces that on February 11, 2000, it will conduct a sale by competitive sealed bid of the right to hold each of approximately 161 taxi medallions for the City of Philadelphia. All interested parties will submit a sealed bid for any number of taxi medallions under instructions provided. All eligible applicants are hereby notified that in order to participate in the medallion sale they must obtain a Medallion Bid Information Packet, which contains material that explains the sale process, bid requirements and the conditions to be met by successful bidders. The Medallion Bid Information Packet is available now at the following location: Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, Bureau of Transportation & Safety, 700 Packer Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19148.
Prospective bidders must submit a notarized statement to the address provided in the information packet, on their financial institution's stationery, that certifies the funds available to the bidder. This statement must be postmarked no later than January 21, 2000.
All bids must be submitted to the Commission, at the address provided in the information packet. Bids must be received not later than close of business February 11, 2000. Representatives of the Commission's Bureau of Administrative Services and other agencies designated by the Commission will open, evaluate and read each bid submitted and otherwise conduct the medallion sale. The Bureau of Administrative Services will notify successful bidders by mail on February 18, 2000. Published bid results will be displayed at the location listed above and the Commission's website on February 18, 2000.
