Food Stamp Heating and Nonheating Standard Utility Allowances and Telephone Allowance
[30 Pa.B. 5495] Regulations at 55 Pa. Code § 501.7(a)(2) and (3) establish the amounts of the heating and nonheating standard utility allowances (SUAs) and telephone allowance for the Food Stamp Program. In addition, these regulations provide for revision of these amounts by publication of a notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin. The allowances have been approved by the Food and Nutrition Service of the United States Department of Agriculture and are effective October 1, 2000.
The heating and nonheating SUAs are established in accordance with the requirements of 7 CFR 273.9(d) (6)(i)(C) and (iv). Notice is hereby given that the Department of Public Welfare is increasing the heating SUA from $287 to $292 and decreasing the nonheating SUAfrom $156 to $155. These allowances remain as shown until revised by publication of a notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
The Department of Public Welfare recommends these allowances for codification in 55 Pa. Code § 501.7(a)(2).
The telephone allowance is established in accordance with the requirements of 7 CFR 273.9(d)(6)(v)(C). Notice is hereby given that the Department of Public Welfare is increasing the telephone allowance from $23 to $24. This allowance remains as shown until revised by publication of a notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
The Department of Public Welfare recommends this allowance for codification in 55 Pa. Code § 501.7(a)(3).
