Prior Authorization Requirement for Therapeutic Staff Support Services
[30 Pa.B. 6956] On November 11, 2000, the Department of Public Welfare published a notice of its intent to add Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) services to the list of services requiring prior authorization under the Medical Assistance Program (30 Pa.B. 5891). At that time, the Department proposed to adopt this requirement effective with dates of service beginning February 1, 2001, and invited public comment for up to 30 days.
The purpose of this notice is to announce that, in response to comments received, the Department has revised the effective date of adoption of the prior authorization requirement for TSS services to March 1, 2001. The revised effective date will allow sufficient time to receive and evaluate comments to the original notice and amend procedures, as appropriate, based on comments received.
Fiscal Impact
The fiscal note was prepared under provision of section 612 of The Administrative Code of 1929 (71 P. S. § 232).
