Finding
[30 Pa.B. 6958]
Bradford County Pursuant to the provisions of 71 P. S. Section 2002(b), the Secretary of Transportation makes the following written finding:
The Department of Transportation plans to demolish and remove a bridge over Towanda Creek, locally known as the Masontown Bridge, from State Route 3006, Section 006 in Monroe Township, Bradford County. The project does not consist of the construction of a new bridge.
The proposed project will have an adverse effect on the bridge, which has been determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. There is no feasible and prudent alternative to the removal of the historic bridge. Minimization of impact will be addressed through the following: completion of a bridge form and submittal to the PASHPO for permanent curation, preparation of a pamphlet documenting the history and engineering of the Masontown Truss for distribution to the public, and by sensitively removing, cleaning, repainting, and resetting the existing bridge plaque in the vicinity of the existing crossing.
No adverse environmental effect is likely to result from the removal of this bridge.
BRADLEY L. MALLORY,
Secretary
