Addition of Tobacco Cessation Counseling Services
[32 Pa.B. 392] The Department of Public Welfare (Department) announces that it is adding tobacco cessation counseling to the Medical Assistance Program Fee Schedule, effective January 1, 2002, as follows:

Includes both individual and
group sessions
1 unit = 15 minute session
Limit of 10 units per calendar year
$15/ unit The proposed adoption of this service was presented to the Medical Assistance Advisory Committee (MAAC) for review and comment at its September 27, 2001, meeting. The Department received no written comments from the MAAC regarding the proposed addition of tobacco cessation counseling.
Fiscal Impact
The fiscal note was prepared under the authority of section 612 of The Administrative Code of 1929 (71 P. S. § 232).
