Aetna US Healthcare; Rate Increase Filing for Nongroup Plans
[32 Pa.B. 1012] On January 29, 2002, Aetna US Healthcare filed to increase the rates for the nongroup plans in all service areas of this Commonwealth effective July 1, 2002. The proposed rate increases for the base medical HMO plans are 21.11% in the Southeastern Pennsylvania/Berks service area, 17.41% in the Western Pennsylvania service area and 26.90% in the Central/Northeastern Pennsylvania service area. An increase of 25% for pharmacy coverage is requested for all service areas. These proposed rates would affect approximately 13,600 members.
Benefit changes to the Superior Plan are also requested to be effective July 1, 2002. These changes include increasing the specialist copay from $10 to $15 and the outpatient surgery copay from $0 to $100.
Copies of the filing are available for public inspection during normal working hours, by appointment, at the Insurance Department's office in Harrisburg.
Interested parties are invited to submit written comments, suggestions or objections to Carol E.
