Exchange of Lands
[33 Pa.B. 1855] The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (Department), acting through the Bureau of Forestry (Bureau), and the SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority (Authority) are proposing to negotiate an exchange of lands in the Jersey Shore Borough, Lycoming County.
The Bureau is proposing to acquire from the Authority two parcels containing a total of 1.57 acres of land. In return, the Bureau proposes to convey to the Authority a parcel of 0.35 acre.
These properties are situated in the vicinity of the Authority's active rail line along Railroad Street west of Bridge Street. The purpose of this proposed land exchange is to provide a public access area for the Pine Creek Rail to Trail.
As is the policy of the Department, the public is notified of this exchange. A 30-day period for public inquiry and/or comment will be in effect commencing April 14, 2003, and ending May 13, 2003. Oral or written comments or questions concerning this proposed exchange may be addressed to Daniel A. Devlin, Chief, Forest Resource Planning and Information Division, Bureau of Forestry, P. O. Box 8552, Harrisburg, PA 17105-8552, (717) 787-2105. Oral or written comments, or both, will become part of the official document used in the final decision process.
If, in the duration of the 30-day comment period, a significant amount of public concern develops, the Secretary of the Department may schedule a public informational meeting.
