To maintain the existing concrete trapezoidal channel and to construct and maintain new sections of rectangular concrete channel and concrete box culvert stream enclosure, within an intermittent 3,000 foot reach of Mill Creek (CWF) and an intermittent 220 foot reach of Collins Creek (CWF), for the purpose of flood control.
Work within the upper 1,880 linear feet of channel will include rehabilitation of joints, removal and replacement of a 188 foot section with a concrete rectangular section and replacement of a damaged 255 foot section. The project will tie into the Department of Transportation structure that extends from SR 2035 to SR 315 North. Continuing downstream from SR 315 North, work will include construction of 358 feet of rectangular concrete channel to replace the existing gabion-walled channel section and construction of 495 feet of concrete box culvert stream enclosure. A rectangular concrete channel will be constructed in Collins Creek, extending 163 feet downstream from the existing SR 315 North structure, followed by 60 feet of concrete box culvert extending to the confluence with Mill Creek.
The project (known as Project No. DGS 184-23, Phase 2, Unit 2) extends from SR 0081 downstream to SR 0315 South (Avoca, PA Quadrangle N: 12.6 inches; W: 17.0 inches), in Dupont Borough, Luzerne County (Subbasin 05A).

The project is located on SR 105, Section 001 approximately 1,000 feet south of the intersection of SR 1075 with SR 706.
The project will have a permanent de minimis impact on .0066 acre of combination palustrine emergent/palustrine scrub wetlands and .0242 acre of palustrine emergent wetlands while impacting approximately 70 feet of waterway and 0.08 acre of floodway fill.

Slippery Rock Creek is a perennial stream classified as a CWF. The project will directly affect a total of 120 linear feet of stream channel.

To remove the existing structure and to construct and maintain a P/S spread concrete box beam bridge having a clear span of 90.5 feet and an underclearance of 12.8 feet on a 60 degree skew across Little Brokenstraw Creek (CWF) on SR 0006, Section BO3, Segment 0260, Offset 0000 approximately 600 feet northwest of the intersection of SR 0006 and T-467 (Smith Hill Road).
