The animals will be housed in three barns. Manure drains into shallow pits beneath each barn and is conveyed by gravity outdoors to a concrete reception pit and three concrete manure storage facilities. The total capacity of the manure storage facilities is approximately 3.7 million gallons.
The Department has conducted administrative and technical reviews of the application. Based on the preliminary review and application of lawful standards and regulations, the Department has made a tentative determination to issue an NPDES permit for the operation subject to the terms and conditions and monitoring and reporting requirements specified in the permit.
