Proposed Exchange of Lands

   The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (Department), acting through the Bureau of Forestry (Bureau), and John Marshall are proposing to negotiate an exchange of lands in Abbott Township, Potter County.

   The Bureau is proposing to acquire from John Marshall a 25-acre parcel of land near the Village of Carter Camp. In return, the Bureau proposes to convey to John Marshall a 25-acre parcel of land in the same vicinity. The purpose of this proposed land exchange is to settle the location of the Marshall parcel and the included camp building.

   As is the policy of the Department, the public is hereby notified of this exchange. A 30-day period for public inquiry and/or comment will begin October 18, 2004, and end November 16, 2004. Oral or written comments or questions concerning this proposed exchange should be addressed to Daniel A. Devlin, Director of Forest Resource Planning and Stewardship, Bureau of Forestry, P. O. Box 8552, Harrisburg, PA 17105-8552, (717) 787-2105. Oral and/or written comments will become part of the official document used in the final decision process.

   If, in the duration of the 30-day comment period, a significant amount of public concern develops, the Secretary of the Department may schedule a public informational meeting.
