United Healthcare Insurance Company; Application for Approval of Revised Rates for AARP Group Prestandardized Medicare Supplement Policy Forms M1--M7 and MA; Rate Filing
[35 Pa.B. 5071] United HealthCare Insurance Company has filed for approval increased rates for its AARP Group Pre-standardized Medicare Supplement policy forms. The filing requests a rate increase of 11.3%.
These rate adjustments will affect approximately 15,837 insureds and will generate approximately $3.3 million in additional premium annually. The company would like the revised rates to take effect on January 1, 2006.
Also included in the filing are reduced rates for insureds who choose to drop their prescription drug benefits. Plans M3, M4 and M7 include prescription drug benefits which the insureds may eliminate from their coverage effective January 1, 2006, in exchange for a reduced rate. These rate reductions compared with the proposed rates including prescription drug coverage are as follows: M3, -13.6%; M4, -13.6%; M7, -14.4%.
Unless formal administrative action is taken before November 22, 2005, the subject filing may be deemed approved by operation of law.
