Application for Merger
[35 Pa.B. 5205] An application has been received requesting approval of the merger of Allied Insurance Company, a nonadmitted stock insurance company organized under the laws of California, with ACE American Insurance Company, a stock casualty insurance company organized under the laws of the Commonwealth. The survivor of the merger would be ACE American Insurance Company. The initial filing was received on August 31, 2005, and was made under 15 Pa.C.S. §§ 1921--1932 (relating to merger, con- solidation, share exchanges and sale of assets), the GAA Amendments Act of 1990 (15 P. S. §§ 21101--21208) and the Insurance Holding Companies Act (40 P. S. §§ 991.1401--991.1413). Persons wishing to comment on the grounds of public or private interest in this merger are invited to submit a written statement to the Insurance Department (Department) within 30 days from the date of publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin. Written statements must include the name, address and telephone number of the interested party, identification of the application to which the statement is addressed and a concise statement with sufficient detail and relevant facts to inform the Department of the exact basis of the statement.
