354R14 You are invited to submit a proposal to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) to obtain a Design/Build Contractor who would design and install beautification sites in a specific geographic area of Pennsylvania as part of PennDOT's Roadside Beautification Program. PennDOT's wish is to streamline the design and installation of landscape plantings within state owned highway right-of-ways in partnership with Beautification Sponsor Groups (BSGs) in six of the eleven PennDOT Engineering District Offices. Many potential BSGs have a desire to create landscape plantings along a highway, but some need assistance in landscape design and selecting and arranging plants so that they appeal to the public. With this new Roadside Beautification Program, BSGs made up of local citizens, civic clubs, business and/or municipalities, can be assisted by PennDOT's Design/Build Contractor who will be available to those in Engineering Districts 1-0, 2-0, 9-0, 10-0, 11-0 and 12-0. This Request for Proposal is being issued to obtain a Design/Build Contractor for PennDOT's Roadside Beautification Program.
