Bid Opportunity; Clarion University

   Clarion University of PA will accept bids for Project CL-643, New Dining Hall Construction, until 2 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2007, at Thorn II Building, (beside Public Safety), Clarion University, 840 Wood Street, Clarion, PA 16254. The bid documents are available for a nonrefundable fee of $525. Send check payable to STV Architects, 205 West Welsh Drive, Douglassville, PA 19518, Attn: Karen Mauger (610) 385-8481.

   A prebid conference will be held on Friday, July 20, 2007, at 10 a.m. in Gemmell Student Center, Room 250/252, Clarion, PA. Directions to campus are available on the following University website www.clarion.edu/admiss/find_us.shtml. The prebid conference will be followed by a site visit (walking tour) of the project site and will be the only site visit conducted by the University and the only review of plans and specifications. While not mandatory for bidding purposes, contractors are urged to attend.

   Brief Description: The project consists of the construction: General, HVAC, Plumbing/fire protection and Electrical, of a 31,000 sq. ft. 2-story dining facility. The building will be constructed with steel framing and a masonry exterior. Site work and identified utilities are included as identified. The project includes all food service equipment. Estimated cost is $7.5 million.

   Work will be done during a period when the surrounding structures are occupied. All work will be done under Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Laws.
