Citizens Advisory Council Meeting Change

[Saturday, August 4, 2007]The date and location of the October 16, 2007, meeting of the Citizens Advisory Council (Council) to the Department of Environmental Protection (Department) has been changed. In lieu of the meeting scheduled for October 16, 2007, Council will now hold public meetings in Bedford, PA, on October 10--11, 2007. The purpose of the meetings is to hear from interested citizens and groups from Bedford, Blair, Franklin, Fulton and Huntingdon Counties on environmental issues facing the region and the work of the Department. The meetings will occur at the Best Western Bedford Inn, 4517 Business 220, Bedford, PA, as follows: Wednesday, October 10, 7 p.m.--9 p.m.; and Thursday, October 11, 9:30 a.m.--12 p.m.
The Council is a nonpartisan group of 18 citizen volunteers appointed by the Governor, Speaker of the House and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate. The Department Secretary also serves as a member. The Council is legislatively charged with reviewing all environmental legislation, regulations and policies affecting the Commonwealth, and for reviewing the Department's work and making recommendations.
