Pennsylvania 2007 Private Passenger Automobile Data Call (Act 6 Data Call); Rate Filing

   Each year, the Insurance Department (Department) conducts routine ''Data Calls'' to companies licensed to write motor vehicle insurance in the State. Data Calls are used to monitor the auto insurance marketplace and to collect data for statutory reports. On June 13, 2008, the Department forwarded Data Calls to be completed by companies who are licensed to write private passenger automobile insurance in Pennsylvania. Persons will receive only a cover letter by means of the United States Postal Service. The 2007 Data Call letter, instructions and data formats are available on the Department's web site www.ins.state.pa.us.

   Companies with Pennsylvania private passenger automobile direct written premium in 2007 are required to complete Parts 1 and 2. Data for more than one insurance company may not be combined into a single submission. This information is to be submitted to the Department no later than October 15, 2008.

   Insurance companies with no Pennsylvania private passenger automobile direct written premium in 2007 are required to submit only Part 2. This is to be submitted to the Department no later than October 15, 2008.

   Consistent with previous Data Calls, the Department will consider the data submitted as proprietary and handle the data accordingly. See the instructions for additional information regarding the completion of the individual parts.
