HealthAmerica--Base Rates for HMO and HSA HMO for Eastern, South-Eastern and Western Pennsylvania; Rate Filing

[Saturday, July 4, 2009]On June 9, 2009, HealthAmerica submitted a filing to change its base rates for HMO and HSA HMO. The overall rate changes by service area are as follows:
Service Area Rate Change Members Affected Additional Annual Income Eastern PA 14.3% 8,000 2,609,000 South-Eastern 26.7% 150 321,000 Western PA 6.6% 12,000 134,000 An effective date of November 1, 2009, is requested.
Unless formal administrative action is taken prior to September 10, 2009, the subject filing may be deemed approved by operation of law.
A copy of the filing is available on the Insurance Department's (Department) web site at http://www.ins. state.pa.us. Under the Quick Links section, click on the link ''Rate Filings Published in the PA Bulletin.''
Copies of the filing are available for public inspection during normal working hours, by appointment, at the Department's Harrisburg Regional Office.
Interested parties are invited to submit written comments, suggestions or objections to Rashmi Mathur, Actuary, Bureau of Accident and Health Insurance, Insurance Department, 1311 Strawberry Square, Harrisburg, PA 17120, within 30 days after publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
