[Saturday, September 24, 2011]On September 2, 2011, the Insurance Department (Department) received from GEICO General Insurance Company and GEICO Indemnity Insurance Company a filing for rate level changes for Private Passenger Automobile insurance.
GEICO General Insurance Company requests an overall 3.7% increase amounting to $7,994,000 annually, to be effective November 10, 2011, for new business and December 23, 2011, for renewal business. This overall figure represents an average; the effect of this filing on the rates for individual consumers may vary.
GEICO Indemnity Insurance Company requests an overall 2.6% increase amounting to $2,047,000 annually, to be effective November 10, 2011, for new business and December 23, 2011, for renewal business. This overall figure represents an average; the effect of this filing on the rates for individual consumers may vary.
Unless formal administrative action is taken prior to November 1, 2011, the subject filing may be deemed approved by operation of law.
