Solicitation of Interest for Municipal Waste Disposal Capacity

 Blair County, in Southcentral Pennsylvania, is updating its County Municipal Waste Management Plan in accordance with the Municipal Waste Planning, Recycling and Waste Reduction Act (act) (53 P. S. §§ 4000.101—4000.1904). As required in the act, Blair County has prepared a Solicitation of Interest (SOI) for the purpose of obtaining 10-year commitments (July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2023) for disposal capacity for the municipal waste (MSW) generated within Blair County during that period. The waste facilities to be considered in the County Plan Update must be permitted and fully available for use prior to July 1, 2013. Transfer stations handling MSW from Blair County during this time period should also visit the following web site to find submission requirements, to be including in the Blair County Plan Update.
