Newborn Hearing Screening Program; Revision of Guidelines

[Saturday, April 13, 2013]The Department of Health's (Department) Newborn Hearing Screening Program and the Infant Hearing Screening Advisory Committee, established under the Infant Hearing Education, Assessment, Reporting and Referral Act (IHEARR) Act (act) (11 P. S. §§ 876-1—876-9), have updated the Newborn Hearing Screening Program Guidelines (Guidelines). The Guidelines provide guidance and recommended procedures for hospitals, physicians and audiologists in conducting and administering universal newborn hearing screening programs in accordance with the act.
