Newtown Creek Watershed Conservation Plan

[Saturday, September 14, 2013]The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (Department), Bureau of Recreation and Conservation has approved the Newtown Creek Watershed Conservation Plan (Plan) and is placing the Newtown Creek Watershed and all tributaries covered in the Plan in Bucks County on the Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Registry (Registry).
Newtown Borough submitted the Plan and other required information to gain Registry status.
After review of the Plan and other information, the Department has determined that the Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Program (Program) requirements have been satisfied and places the following on the Registry:
• The watershed area of Newtown Creek (Bucks County) from the headwaters to its confluence with the main stem of Neshaminy Creek—6.3 square miles.
• All tributary streams within the Newtown Creek Watershed.
This action becomes effective September 14, 2013. Projects identified in the Plan become eligible for implementation, development or acquisition grant funding through the Program.
