Coal Mining Reclamation Fee Amount for 2014

[Saturday, January 18, 2014]The Department of Environmental Protection (Department) announces the amount of the Reclamation Fee for 2014. This notice is required by 25 Pa. Code § 86.17 (relating to permit and reclamation fees). Effective January 1, 2014, the Reclamation Fee for calendar year 2014 will be $0. While the fee will not be assessed in 2014, the regulations require annual adjustments. The fee amount for subsequent years will be calculated in accordance with 25 Pa. Code § 86.17. Refer to this section of the regulations for further information about the process.
This is the result of calculations presented in a report that contains a financial analysis of the revenue and expenditures from the account for Fiscal Year 2012-2013 and provides projections for the 2013-2014 Fiscal Years. The report was reviewed with the Mining and Reclamation Advisory Board on October 24, 2013.
