Public Listening Session; Clean Power Plan

 The Department of Environmental Protection (Department) will hold a listening session to obtain input on the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed Carbon Pollution Emission Guidelines for Existing Stationary Sources: Electric Utility Generating Units (Clean Power Plan) under section 111(d) of the Federal Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C.A. § 7411(d)). The listening ses- sion will be held on September 25, 2014, at 9 a.m. in the Honors Suite, 333 Market Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101. The EPA proposed the Clean Power Plan at 79 FR 34830 (June 18, 2014). Comments are due to the EPA by October 16, 2014.

 Prior to finalizing the Department's comments on the proposed Clean Power Plan, the public is invited to present their position and comments on the Clean Power Plan at the September 25, 2014, listening session. To ensure that an opportunity is provided to speak during this session, interested parties should register with the Department by September 22, 2014. Registered speakers will be allowed no more than 15 minutes to present their position and comments on the EPA's proposed Clean Power Plan. The Department may then ask the speaker clarifying questions, if necessary. Prior to the end of the session, a brief period will be allotted for input from unregistered speakers. Speakers should provide three copies of their written comments to the Department during the listening session.
