Ambulatory Surgical Facilities; Requests for Exceptions

[Saturday, October 15, 2016]The following ambulatory surgical facilities (ASF) have filed requests for exceptions under 28 Pa. Code § 51.33 (relating to requests for exceptions) with the Department of Health (Department), which has authority to license ASFs under the Health Care Facilities Act (35 P.S. §§ 448.101—448.904b). The following requests for exception relate to regulations governing ASF licensure in 28 Pa. Code Chapters 51 and 551—571 (relating to general information; and ambulatory surgical facilities), with the exception of 28 Pa. Code § 571.1 (relating to minimum standards). Exception requests related to 28 Pa. Code § 571.1 are listed separately in this notice.

28 Pa. Code § 553.3(1) (relating to governing body responsibilities)The following ASF is requesting exceptions under 28 Pa. Code § 571.1. Requests for exceptions under this section relate to minimum standards that ASFs must comply with under the Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals and Outpatient Facilities (Guidelines). The following includes the citation to the section under the Guidelines that the ASF is seeking an exception, as well as the publication year of the applicable Guidelines.

Persons who wish to comment on an exception request may do so by sending a letter by mail, e-mail or facsimile to the Division at the address listed previously. Comments received by the Department within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice will be reviewed by the Department before it decides whether to approve or disapprove the request for exception.
