Amendment to Proclamation of Disaster Emergency June 1, 2020
Whereas, on May 30, 2020, I declared a disaster emergency related to civil disturbances that have resulted following the tragic death of George Perry Floyd while in police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota; and
Whereas, while many of the protests have remained peaceful, some assemblies have not and have become dangerous, causing damage to people and property; and
Whereas, it has been determined that a civil disturbance is now affecting, and continues to affect, several counties in the Commonwealth;
Now Therefore, pursuant to the provisions of section 7301(c) of the Emergency Management Services Code, 35 Pa.C.S. § 7301(c), I do hereby order and direct as follows:
1. The Proclamation of Disaster Emergency of May 30, 2020 is amended to add the following additional counties: Delaware, Erie, and Montgomery.
2. All directives, authorized actions and provisions of the May 30, 2020, Proclamation of Disaster Emergency shall remain in full force and effect until either rescinded by me or terminated by law.
This Proclamation Amendment shall take effect immediately.
Given under my hand and the Seal of the Governor, at the city of Harrisburg, on this first day of June two thousand twenty, the year of the commonwealth the two hundred and forty-fourth.
