Newborn Screening and Follow-Up Technical Advisory Board Virtual Public Meeting

[Saturday, June 26, 2021]The Newborn Screening and Follow-Up Technical Advisory Board (Board), established under the Newborn Child Testing Act (35 P.S. §§ 621—625), will hold a virtual public meeting on Thursday, July 15, 2021, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The virtual public meeting will be conducted as a teleconference Skype meeting. The agenda will include: discussions about the recent implementation of Newborn Child Testing Act—Newborn Child Screening and Follow-Up Program, and Mandated Screening and Follow-Up Act of November 25, 2020 (P.L. 1259, No. 133) requirements effective May 24, 2021; a recap of the Midwife Education and Outreach efforts held on April 26, 2021; discussions about a Newborn Screening Awareness Month event to be held in September 2021; Board Member Terms; Board Officer Elections; updates from the Bureau of Family Health (Bureau) including a demonstration of the new Data Dashboard; and updates from the Ethics, Lysosomal Storage Disorders/X-ALD, Cystic Fibrosis, Hemoglobinopathy and Critical Congenital Heart Defects subcommittees. The Bureau will also present data for each subcommittee update if needed.
