Supplemental Payments to Qualifying Hospitals

[Saturday, October 16, 2021]The Department of Human Services (Department) is providing final public notice for the annual inpatient supplemental payments for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020-2021 to qualifying acute care general hospitals that treat a high volume of opioid use disorder patients in their emergency rooms.
The Department published notice of its intent to allocate funding for these payments at 51 Pa.B. 2886 (May 22, 2021). The Department received no comments during the 30-day comment period. The Department will implement the total payment set forth in the notice of intent.
Fiscal Impact
For FY 2020-2021, the Department will allocate $45.988 million in total (State and Federal) funds for these supplemental payments.
