Draft National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System Pollution Reduction Plans
[52 Pa.B. 6015]
[Saturday, September 17, 2022]The Department of Transportation (Department) will receive public comments on four proposed Pollution Reduction Plans (PRP) required for its 2021—2026 National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System individual permit to discharge stormwater from small municipal separate storm sewer systems (MS4) permit No. PAI139601.
The Department MS4 has developed PRPs for the Chesapeake Bay, Delaware River, Ohio River and Lake Erie Watersheds. The PRPs determine existing sediment pollutant loadings associated with stormwater runoff and propose potential best management practices to reduce the pollutant loads to meet the requirements of the MS4 Permit for each watershed.
The proposed PRPs can be viewed online by visiting www.penndot.pa.gov/Doing-Business/LocalGovernment/StormWaterManagement/, select ''Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4)'' and then select ''Pollution Reduction Plan.'' Alternatively, interested persons can request to receive the draft PRPs by contacting Richard Heineman at rheineman@pa.gov or (717) 787-0459.
Written comments on the PRPs will be accepted for a period of 30 days from the date of this public notice by mail to Richard Heineman, Department of Transportation, 400 North Street, 6th Floor, Harrisburg, PA 17105 or at rheineman@pa.gov. Comments will be tabulated and considered with the final PRPs.
