Medical Marijuana Program; Qualifications for Financial Hardship

[Saturday, January 22, 2022]Notice is hereby given, under 28 Pa. Code § 1191.26(d) (relating to application fees), of the qualifications for financial hardship necessary to obtain a waiver or reduction of the application fee for a medical marijuana identification card. The Department of Health (Department) may waive or reduce the fee for an identification card application or an identification card renewal application for an applicant who demonstrates financial hardship. For 2022, the Department has determined that an applicant may demonstrate financial hardship by verifying, subject to the penalties of perjury, that the applicant is currently participating in one or more of the following programs:
Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
Medicaid
Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE)
PACE Needs Enhancement Tier (PACENET)
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
The Department may verify an applicant's current participation in any of the previously listed programs.
