Draft Stream Evaluation Reports; Available for Public Comment

Code § 93.4d (relating to processing of petitions, evaluations and assessments to change a designated use), the Department of Environmental Protection (Department) gives notice that the following Draft Stream Evaluation Reports are available for public comment for a 30-day comment period.
Stream Name County Tributary to Slab Cabin Run Centre Spring Creek Lycoming Creek Lycoming, Tioga and Sullivan West Branch Susquehanna River The Slab Cabin Run evaluation was conducted in response to the Fish and Boat Commission Class A wild trout classifications and an existing use evaluation associated with a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit. The Slab Cabin Run basin is currently designated High Quality—Cold Water Fishes, Migratory Fishes (HQ-CWF, MF) from the basin source to State Route (SR) 26 at 40°43`46"N; 77°52`42.4"W and Cold Water Fishes, Migratory Fishes (CWF, MF) from SR 26 to the mouth, excluding unnamed tributary (UNT) 23037 (Thompson Run), which is designated HQ-CWF, MF.
The Lycoming Creek evaluation was conducted in response to a rulemaking petition submitted by the Lycoming Creek Watershed Association and accepted by the Environmental Quality Board on August 18, 2009. The petitioner requested that the mainstem be redesignated to HQ. The Lycoming Creek mainstem is currently designated CWF, MF from the source to Long Run. Tributaries to Lycoming Creek from the source to, and including, Long Run are currently designated HQ-CWF, MF. The entire Lycoming Creek basin, including the mainstem and tributaries, from Long Run to the mouth is currently designated Warm Water Fishes, MF.
The draft reports are available for review on the Department's eComment web site at www.ahs.dep.pa.gov/eComment.
The Department has asked all relevant local jurisdictions to make a copy of this notification available to any and all interested citizens, including those who own real property in the relevant municipalities and to any other parties the municipalities believe may be interested in these evaluations and draft reports.
Interested persons may submit comments through Monday, March 6, 2023. Comments, including comments submitted by e-mail, must include the commentator's name and address. Commentators are encouraged to submit comments using the Department's online eComment tool at www.ahs.dep.pa.gov/eComment. Written comments can be sent by e-mail to ecomment@pa.gov or mailed to the Department of Environmental Protection, Policy Office, Rachel Carson State Office Building, P.O. Box 2063, Harrisburg, PA 17105-2063. Comments received on the draft reports during the public comment period will be reviewed and considered in the Department's evaluation.
