Contemplated Sale of Land No Longer Needed for Transportation Purposes

[Saturday, April 13, 2024]The Department of Transportation (Department), under the Sale of Transportation Lands Act (71 P.S. §§ 1381.1—1381.3), intends to sell certain land owned by the Department.
The following property is available for sale by the Department.
State Route 0065, Parcel No. 15, 12th Ward, City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County. This parcel contains approximately 5,247.48 square feet of unimproved land bounded by West North Street, Faulsey Way and Chateau Street. The property will be sold in as is condition. The estimated fair market value of the parcel is $39,400. It has been determined that the land is no longer needed for present or future transportation purposes.
Environmental Disclosure: As a mitigation measure, the grantee will be required to consult with Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office staff prior to engaging in ground disturbing activities that exceed 12 inches below the existing ground surface, as of 2024. This requirement extends to subsequent fee simple conditional purchases of the property.
Interested public agencies are invited to express their interest in purchasing the site within 30 calendar days from the date of publication of this notice to Jason Zang, PE, District Executive, Department of Transportation, Engineering District 11-0, 45 Thoms Run Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017.
