Hospitals; Requests for Exceptions

[Saturday, June 15, 2024]The following hospitals have filed requests for exceptions under 28 Pa. Code § 51.33 (relating to requests for exceptions) with the Department of Health (Department), which has authority to license hospitals under the Health Care Facilities Act (35 P.S. §§ 448.101—448.904b). The following requests for exceptions relate to regulations governing hospital licensure in 28 Pa. Code Chapters 51 and 101—158 (relating to general information; and general and special hospitals).

Requests for exceptions under this section relate to minimum standards that hospitals must comply with under the Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals—2018 Edition, Guidelines for Design and Construction of Outpatient Facilities—2018 Edition or the Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals—2022 Edition, Guidelines for Design and Construction of Outpatient Facilities—2022 Edition. Persons may receive a copy of a request for exception by requesting a copy from the Department of Health, Division of Acute and Ambulatory Care, Room 532, Health and Welfare Building, Harrisburg, PA 17120, (717) 783-8980, fax (717) 772-2163, ra-paexcept@pa.gov. Persons who wish to comment on an exception request may do so by sending a letter by mail, e-mail or facsimile to the Division at the previously listed contact information. Comments received by the Department within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice will be reviewed by the Department before it decides whether to approve or disapprove the request for exception.
