DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Consolidated Plan; Public Meeting and Regional Housing Advisory Committee Meetings
[27 Pa.B. 3430] The Department of Community and Economic Development (Department) is preparing the 1998 Annual Plan which supplements the Commonwealth's Consolidated Plan for Federal fiscal years 1995-1999. These documents must be submitted to and approved by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in order for the Commonwealth and organizations within the State to receive funding under most HUD housing and community development programs. The Consolidated Plan creates a unified strategy for housing and community development programs as well as the necessary linkages for building successful neighborhoods and communities.
The Commonwealth's 1998 Annual Plan will address how the Commonwealth intends to allocate funds under the following programs: Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships, Emergency Shelter Grant, and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS.
An individual or organization may give testimony or comments at the public meeting. Comments will be accepted on topics related to community development, housing, the content of the Commonwealth's Annual Plan and the process by which the public's input is gathered. The Commonwealth encourages public participation in this process.
Persons who want to speak must call to schedule a time to give oral testimony at the meeting. The public meeting will be shortened if no one is scheduled to testify or if there is minimal response. To schedule oral testimony at the public meeting, one must contact Aldona Kartorie at (717) 720-7409 at least 24 hours prior to the meeting date.
